If the caregiver requests to be heard at the court hearing, but is denied the right to be heard, the caregiver has 30 days to file a “writ of mandamus.” The

caregiver should have an attorney file the writ of mandamus on his or her behalf. If granted, this “mandamus” action allows the caregiver to be heard in court.
