A Family Based Residential placement is used for a child in the legal care and custody of the Children’s Division to be placed with a parent in a licensed residential family-based treatment facility for substance abuse for up to 12 months. These settings are not licensed by Children’s Division, but are licensed and contracted with Department of Mental Health (DMH), Division of Behavioral Health (DBH).
