When a court in another state takes temporary, emergency jurisdiction of a child under the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) and requests transfer of the case to a court in Texas, the CPI supervisor emails the DFPS CCOS (Custody of Children Out of State) mailbox [sic, email link] for assistance prior to any of the following case actions:

  • Stage progression.
  • Assignment.
  • Administrative closure.
